I'd go for La Leche or the Vegan Outreach. Can you just explain further how the Google ad revenue from this GoodSearch site? Say I search PETA and then click on peta.org link, how do they get the money? The link was under search results and not 'Sponsors' or Adwords. I'm confused. If I click on an Adwords link then instead, then it'd just be costing the 'donatee' or charity such as PETA money as they're paying for the Adword keyword. I'm confused. Where does the money come from? Goodsearch? How does Goodsearch get the money? If it works as I assumed above, then the percentage of people going to this GS site and then deliberately clicking on an Adword such as www.vegie-peel.com than isn't that fraudulent as they say? ;-P Hehe, oh well I love your caring heart though Wendy.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing it up for me. It actually makes sense to me now.

It works from advertising revenue. Just like when you use Google or any of the other major search engines, there are featured results (sites that pay to be among the first in the search result listings), and/or sidebar advertisers, and/or sites that pay when you actually click on them from the search results. Most of the search sites keep that advertising revenue for their company; a few, such as GoodSearch, donate a portion of it to charitable organizations instead. (GoodSearch donates about 50%, according to their FAQ.) So the money comes from advertisers, who aren't donating it directly but are paying to have their websites visible to us searchers. The click-to-donate sites work in a similar way -- money comes from advertisers who get their website featured on the "thank you" page after you click. In any case, if you do any websearching at all, you're most likely using a site that uses advertising money in one way or another, so why not use a site that gives some of that money to a cause you support?

I think the thought of this is nice, but with stuff like this, I've always wondered, if they're going to donate, why not just donate.Good causes though!! :)
