Most multi level marketers are aware that it is extremely hard, if not impossible, to turn first-time visitors into buyers. Savvy multi level marketers, therefore, ask their visitors for an email address and permission to send them follow-up material instead. In this way, they build up a list of prospects they can continuously appeal to. The hope is that their follow-up material will convert the prospects into buyers once they become more familiar with the product or the provider himself. The most popular way to build a list of prospects is to use a squeeze page. When a visitor lands on a squeeze page, he is asked to opt-in or sign up to a subscription list if he wants to continue exploring the site. A squeeze page typically encourages visitors to provide their name and email address and by describing something valuable that is awaiting them after they opt in – be it a free report, secret tips, or a newsletter with insider knowledge. For a squeeze page to be successful, the offer must be so enticing to the visitor that he doesn’t even think twice about opting in. Traffic is usually driven to a squeeze page by pay-per-click advertisements, emails, viral marketing, and articles. The beauty of this is, when a visitor lands on the squeeze page, he is already half-ready to sign up. Pay-per-click advertisements mean the visitor entered keywords into a search engine that triggered the squeeze page to appear. The emails must have described what was being offered by the squeeze page in such detail that the visitor decided to click on the link. Viral marketing is word-of-mouth marketing – people liked what the squeeze page had to offer so much they told their friends about it. People read articles on topics they are curious about. The point is that you know the people who sign up to your list have an interest in your niche market or niche product. What better to have- prospects or interested prospects? Although a squeeze page is a great tool for online commerce, its uses can also be extended to multi-level marketing. The success of every MLM campaign depends on the effectiveness of its recruitment strategy. Using a squeeze page to build a list is an ideal way for a multi-level marketer to deepen his downline: 1.) In old school MLM campaigns, if you didn’t get your prospects to sign up at the first meeting, you had forever lost them. In the new age of the internet, you have the chance to follow up with interesting material or presentations again and again, until your prospect is ready to sign up with you one day. 2.) With cold calling in the olden days, it was highly likely that a prospect was not in the mood to have a conversation or was busy. Because of the wrong timing, your prospect would probably have dismissed you completely. Today, the follow up emails are sent in a non-invasive manner, so a prospect can choose to read the material you send when he feels like it. The follow-up material also gives you a chance to educate the prospect about your company over time and to increase your credibility. By following up, you build up a relationship with your prospect. 3.) Because prospects who sign up to your list already have an interest in your niche market, which makes it much easier to convince them to sign up to your program. People like to get involved in things they are interested in.
