The Snack Sack can be filled with or without a bowl. When using the bowl, it is easiest to fill it first and then slide it into the Snack Sack sideways. Once it is completely in, turn the Snack Sack so the bottom of the bowl is on the bottom of the bag. | When the bag is filled, the best way to close it, if you are not going to use it right away, is to pull the the drawstrings out, wrap them once around the bag and tie it with a simple overhand knot (the first part of tying your shoelaces) pulled tight. Make sure not to pull the drawstrings out too far before wrapping them around the bag (you don't want to see elastic--that's not fun to thread back in). It is the wrapping and the overhand knot that seals the bag, not the pulling of the drawstrings. | Notice how the Snack Sack is closed with a very simple knot. When you are ready to use it, just pull the top of the Snack Sack apart near knot and it will loosen. If you want to make the knot more secure from little hands, just use a standard shoelace knot. Clip it to your bag or stroller with the carabiner and you're ready to go. | When you are ready to use the Snack Sack, untie the knot and open it so that the opening is a little bit smaller than your child's closed fist. Without wrapping the drawstrings, tie a simple shoelace knot so that it won't open any further--the elastic in the tie will give enough to allow your child's hand to get snacks out and keeping the opening smaller will significantly reduce spilling. | When it is time to clean your Snack Sack (like after your husband takes it backpacking, filling it with his homemade trail mix that substitutes melt-in-your-mouth M&M's with melt-in-the-bag chocolate covered banana chips), simply take the carabiner off, turn it inside out and throw it in the laundry with your colors. | Most of all, have fun with it--you just might find that you enjoy using it as much as your child. And when you come up with some cool new way to use it, please email me and let me know.
