Accreditation News: The program received notification January 26, 2007, that the Family Medicine Residency Review Committee awarded our Family Medicine Residency and Geriatric Fellowship "Continued Accreditation Status" at its meeting this month. Both programs received the maximum accreditation cycle -- five years -- until the next site visit! The Department of Family Medicine was founded with the purpose of providing residents and medical students with the cognitive and procedural skills necessary to provide excellent care for their patients. The department focuses on giving the very best care to our patients and seeks to attract residents and students who are excited about learning. Medical student education is a major focus of our program. Third year medical students on their required rotation in Family Medicine may spend their time either with a family physician in the community or working with our faculty and residents. In either case, they attend a series of lectures provided by our faculty that are designed to supplement their clinical experience. In addition, opportunities are available for fourth year students to take clinical or research electives within our department. Department sponsors two training programs: Family Medicine Residency and our Geriatric Medicine Fellowship. The Family Medicine Residency Program offers six positions at each of three levels of training. The Geriatric Fellowship is a one year program offering additional experience and training for one resident each year who has already completed either a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Residency. Are you a patient seeking a primary care physician? We strive to provide the best care possible for our patients. Our office is centrally located just off the Erlanger campus. We currently accept most insurance plans in both our resident and faculty practices. All care administered by our resident physicians is provided under the supervision of a board certified attending physician. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
