This is a beautiful old devotional book that was usually given as a gift to a child for First Communion. The cover is made of padded black leather and has gold embossed lettering on the spine and IHS on the front. Has a curved or arched rigid spine. On the inside of the front cover is a gorgeous crucifix which is set in a little recess that is lined with gold and cream embroidered fabric. There is a little white cross with a metal corpus and the outer cross is edged in gold and surrounded in raised embossed paper. This features color illustrations and is full of different prayers and devotions such as Prayer Before a Crucifix, Stations of the Cross, Holy Mass, and more. Printed in Belgium, Imprimature dated 1914, no printing date. Excellent condition, clean pages, tight binding, showing some wear on the edges of the leather cover, measures 4 x 2 3/4 inches.
