“Wake up the mighty man…” Joel 3:9 One of my favorite concepts in scripture comes from Joel 3:9, “Wake up the mighty man...” In this one caption of scripture we can see a major strategy of the Lord. His desire is to wake up the church. More specifically, He wants to wake up the believers and see their mindset and self-view changed from not being very strong, influential, or effective, to that of a mighty man/woman of God. For the last number of years, the focus of our ministry in Asia has been training and activating believers, leaders, churches, and denominations in the apostolic-prophetic. As we have done this, we have seen again and again the transformation of believers into “a mighty man.” Let me share just three ways in which this works. The first is through prophetic ministry. Prophesying, of course, is declaring God's destiny and plans for a person, church or region - versus what the individual may have long held. When they hear what God thinks about them, they begin to rise up. Recently a young apostle in our network of churches told me his story. Over eight years ago, he and his wife were defeated. Their dreams of ministry had been shattered. There were no openings, no prospects, nowhere to go. They felt they were utter failures. They attended one of our meetings where my wife prophesied to him that God would make him an apostle, and that God would use him and his wife mightily. He was shocked, amazed, humbled and thankful. Hope came, faith rose up and he began to move forward. Today he and his wife pastor a thriving, growing church and operate a ministry training school. He is much in demand in various places in his nation and in Asia . Even conservative groups have opened the door for him to come and teach prophetic activation. He testifies that all this happened because of a prophecy that declared God's plan and desire for him.
