Nothing is cooler than to have widgets on your website or a gadget on your desktop. In case you don’t know, a widget is a small application that runs either on your desktop or in a Web page, and a gadget is pretty much the same thing as a widget, but it’s specifically running on Microsoft Windows Vista. Many people have search the web on how to create widgets. Widgipedia is here to help you do that. Widgipedia is a web2.0 online resources for both users and developers of web and desktop widgets and gadgets. With Widgipedia, as Developers, you can use Widgipedia to upload your creations, collaborate with others, learn or teach through tutorials, code samples, libraries and more, and participate in forums. You don’t have to start your widget from scratch - you can check the advanced tutorials and the code samples available on our site. Each of these can help you start directly with advanced widgets. You can also reuse any of the code libraries that Widgipedia has provided, so that you can focus on your application’s specific functionality, and you can discuss with the community of developers that use Widgipedia and you can benefit from their knowledge. As users, you can freely embed the widgets to your websites and search widgets with the Widgipedia search engine. Each Widget is tagged with keywords to make it easier for you to find them. Widgipedia offers a simple way to find web and desktop widgets/gadgets. With its online resources, users and developers alike will have the advantage of learning to create widgets/gadgets. You will only need to have an account if you are planning to upload your widget/gadget creation to Widgipedia. As users, you don’t have to have an account to use the widgets. Unfortunately, I am having a hard time embedding their widgets here on our site, as it keeps messing up the post (the footer part of the widget, in particular). Perhaps one of the folks at Widgipedia care to investigate? WorldTechLogic has posted a similar web widget service before, called WidgetBox. Compare to Widgipedia, WidgetBox has more web widgets on its database. Widgipedia, however, has desktop widgets/gadgets and online resources that WidgetBox does not provide. And so, if you are looking for web widgets, we would suggest you to go to WidgetBox instead. But if you are looking to find help, tutorial, forum, etc on how to create a widget, Widgipedia is a good starting place for you.
