You can get a budget version that has plain wire spring cord ends by the clasp for $14.00, or you can get one with really nice sterling silver cord ends for $26.00. Those little bits of metal add significantly to the cost, so I figured I'd let folks choose according to their budget. of clasp and sterling silver cord ends. Color choice: Which one is authentic, black or brown? I'm not sure. In some shots Zoe's necklace appears black, in others it looks dark brown. I usually prefer things in black, but I really like the dark brown in the necklace. This is a personal choice, but I really prefer the brown (again, coming from someone who usually wears a lot of black). The black looks less "Western" and more goth, or....someone said it had an S&M look to it when I had it on. Or to put it another way, the brown looks more like it belongs on a homy western TV show, the black looks like it belongs on a darker-themed movie. Sizing options: Being a choker of sorts, and one that fits rather high on the neck, fit is important. First of all, since I make them up custom, you can measure your neck at the point where you want it to fit and I can make it that length. When you place your order, please tell me what length you would like. The other thing I can do if you have a pair of fine needlenose pliers, is leave one end of each of the three non-adjustable cords un-crimped. That way you can put it on, then adjust it to fit and crimp those ends down yourself and snip any leftover cord. How to measure: Take a piece of cord or string (avoid using a thick material as this can throw off the measurement) and wrap it comfortably around your neck where you would like the necklace to sit. It may be helpful to look at a picture of someone wearing one to see where it sits. Mark the string and lay it out flat to measure it. This will be the length of your necklace. Measure carefully; it's easy to measure just a tiny bit wrong and have it be uncomfortably tight, or too loose to the point where it doesn't really look right. Faux leather option: I can now offer this necklace in black "Pleather" at a slightly higher cost for those who would like to avoid the use of animal products. It is shinier (literally) and less prone to wear than natural leather. Unfortuantely, I only have black as I was not able to locate a suitable quality imitation in the right shade of brown. I stock a limited amount of this, so in rare cases I might have to backorder your necklace for a few days if I happen to run out of it. I'll try not to though! brown with sterling silver.
