8 kids...... your poor Mom gregsgal. I have copies of my parents wills. Everything went to Dad after Mom passed. She wanted me to have all the money but Dad didn't follow her request's and it wasn't updated in the will. So he's down in Florida living the highlife. Says he's making investments so I'll be taken care of. We'll see.....Dad gave me his and once he's gone all to me unless I pass before him and all would go to my aunt and uncle instead of Hubby.

Make sure you Mom has a valid will too. Sorry to sound gloomy, but my Dad had a will and everything documented to the t as to what was to go where, and he changed one thing on it on his own at one time, and even had that witnessed, and they threw it all out, just like it never existed in the first place. It was a freaking nightmare. :( And I ended up with more stuff than I ever wanted or needed and had to give a LOT of things away. And some is STILL in storage. Ok, it's Happy talk time now... :)

Haha...Um, that wouldn't work so well. For one, I don't fully trust my oldest sister to not eff it up completely (this woman has gone through at least 3 sets of washers and dryers, 4 dining tables (one of which was insanely sturdy), 3 cars, and who knows what else in 12 years) and two, our birthdays are all really close together. Mine in November, younger sister in December, and then the two older sisters in February and only 1 day apart. I know what you mean about not knowing what may happen. I've actually put a lot of thought into what I would like of my moms and also thought about what my siblings would say they wanted. I'm trying to veer away from the things I know will be on others' lists, which is hard because there's 8 kids total in my fam.

My mom has this ring that my sisters and I adore, so it's hard because we would all like to have it. I've made a deal with my mom that I wouldn't ask for that ring if I could have an extra something or other. : ) My little sister had a great idea though and that was to get replicas of the ring made for each of us so we could all have one. Good morning to you as well! I'm sorry to hear about your mom and not being able to keep much of her things. My mom has asked us to make a list of our top 5 things we would like of hers so she can figure out who gets what when she passes away. Luckily my list includes things I don't think my siblings know much about or would care to own anyway (most of it being her parents and grandparents belongings).
