0-0 at half time, and Andorra's part-time football team had successfully contained an England team full of premiership players in the Euro 2008 qualifier. Unfortunately the game had another 45 minutes to run and England, who had been jeered off by their own supporters and a chorus of 'Are you Liechtenstein in disguise?' from the Andorra supporters emerged in the second half with a different attitude. Two goals from Liverpool's Steven Gerrard and a third by substitute David Nugent, with a yellow card somewhere between for the ineffectual Wayne Rooney put paid to any hopes of a spectacular draw for Andorra, and it was just enough to keep England's coach Steve McClaren in his job - for the moment at least.
