A very pretty pair of antique Art Deco boxes. The boxes were designed by Lucretia Vanderbilt and most likely held cosmetics or powder. They are made of aluminum and have a dark blue painted finish. The smaller box is marked "Lucretia Vanderbilt". For size reference the large box measures 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 2 1/4" high. Both boxes are in good overall condition. The only thing to note is very small dent to the bottom edge of the smaller box. Both are being offered for one price of $20.00. See less

Such decadence! This vintage red glass powder jar or dresser jar is a perfect combination of practical and pretty. It still has the powder puff and a whiff of its original contents, but would also be great for jewelry, coins, flower petals, paper clips, or just on its own. The jar is heavy glass, painted red, with swirl marks on the sides in two places. The lid is red metal with what appears to be a printed and embossed cardboard insert and a silver tone metal flower for a handle. The top of the lid has a band of gold with embossed flowers and an interior ring of red with winding gold vines. This jar--which I would guess dates from the 1950s or earlier--is in good vintage condition. The jar has no chips but does have a few places where the paint has scratched off, particularly on the bottom. The lid has a small amount of wear to the red metal and some damage to the surface on the gold area of the lid. Size: 6 inches across by 2 inches tall (15.2 x 5 cm) See less
