This guitar has seen it all. Almost. She is the oldest gal in my collection, the one that was with me when the others were only dreams. I did buy this one fifteen years ago when I was in the first years of my studies in Jazz. I played with her some memorable Charlie Parker stuff at the school show at the end of the course once, and the mighty Dave Brubeck 5/4 "Take five" another time, a long time ago on bandstands so rough that danced with the drummers! I studied on this one all the Charlie Parker numbers that I know by memory now. She literally did teach me Jazz! She did fly with me to the sea, to the mountain, she spent her time with me when nobody would! I'll never sell this one! She is a Manne semi acustic model by Andrea Ballarin an italian gifted luthier owner of the Manne company. He invented this model when guitars that mixed piezo with magnetic sounds didn't existed. So he did realize this guitar that for what I am concerned it is still unmatched. She has one of the most original voice in guitar. She has a magnetic pick up at the neck and a piezo in the bridge. Controls are a volume, a tone and a mix control. With that one you can mix in percentage the sounds of the two pickups obtaining a lot of different tonalities, sounds and balances between the acoustic and electric. We're very far the Parker guitars here. This guitar is unique believe me! The fingerboard is made in artificial resin, very comfortable and stable. I never had to adjuste the neck in 15 years! The body and neck are maple and the top is the jazzy spruce version. The finish is lovely and sturdy at the same time, it doesn't suffer anything and very pleasing to touch too. The name is "lil' donkey gal" because I use this guitar as my main practice tool and so she makes the dirty, heavy job like a little tender mule! I love her!
