Pre-Season Robotics Event to Include Workshops and Mini Competition to Help Local FIRST Teams Prepare and Raise Funds for 2007 Regional Competition CHANDLER, Ariz., Oct. 24, 2006 [NASDAQ: MCHP] - Microchip Technology Inc., a leading provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, and the Arizona FIRST Robotics Planning Committee, in conjunction with ASU’s Applied Learning Technologies Institute, announce the FIRST RoboTech Expo at Arizona State University (ASU) on October 28, 2006. The event will take place at the new ASU Downtown Phoenix Campus, 411 N. Central Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and will include a mini robotics competition, followed by workshops taught by FIRST volunteers on everything from team-building, to fund raising, to safety and mentoring.
