Side Street Projects is a visual arts organization whose mission is to give artists of all ages the ability and means to support their creative endeavors. Each year, we serve over 1,000 kids from diverse communities throughout LA County. We also provide support services designed to meet the needs of working artists, serving nearly 200 adult artists each year… most of whom go onto produce public exhibitions with a combined annual audience of approximately 5,000.

In 2005, we became a completely mobile organization. Our “new” headquarters on wheels are a gigantic pair of vintage 1950’s Spartan aluminum travel trailers. Our short-term plans are to completely refurbish these rare birch wood and aluminum beauties. Our long-term plan involves taking “mobility” to the next level by taking the trailers off-the-grid – utilizing solar power, wireless phones, and satellite Internet connections. Mobile offices will afford us the unique ability to be nomadic within our community and literally go wherever we are needed.
