Reed Richards, Susan Richards, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm were no longer mere mortals, they had become the Fantastic Four! Since their debut in 1961, the Fantastic Four have served as Marvel's premier super-hero team. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby partnered to create the super-powered family, complete with human foibles and squabbles. After returning to Earth and wearing it for some time, he discovered that the goo was actually some sort of symbiotic life form trying to bond with him... permanently. Using the ear shattering noise from inside a church bell tower, he was able to break the bond and rid himself of the symbiote. The symbiote eventually found a new host, Eddie Brock, a reporter with a grudge against Spider-Man. And thus, Venom was born.
