Posted by tabulous on 10/02/2006 last weekend I made a reservation for 10 at Jean Claude for my birthday, I have been to the restaurant numerous times (at least 6 times I can remember in the last 2 years I've been in nyc) and each time I am stuffed and happy with the service and food they provide. You never have to wait long for the food, the hanger steak, hen, or lampchop is delicous!!! Bread and butter are always available, the creme brulee is heavenly, and both the host and hostess are magnifique. On top of the excellent food and service, I was able to get the exact seating as requested (on the left side benches), my friends brought in a huge cheesecake from Eileen's, and not only did the hostess cut the cake for us into 10 pieces, she added chocolate sauce on each plate and sugar powder, AT NO EXTRA PLATE CHARGE WHATSOEVER, everyone enjoyed the scallops and mesculin salad for appetizers, the main entrees, and we were able to happily enjoy our own cheesescake brought from elsewhere...
