Soft deer leather is smoke-stained (Fusube) and then dyed using a traditional Indian technique (Sarasa). The decorative pattern is subsequently silkscreened onto the leather by hand. The traditional Urushi varnish used is derived from natural tree resin and is exceptionally glossy and durable. The final result is a cleanly executed, raised, relief-like pattern which is aesthetically very pleasing. The technical expertise required for the manufacture of Inden-Ya products has been carefully guarded and passed down within the Uehara family based in Koshu for 14 generations. It has a full zip closure, great goldtone metal accents, 3 large roomy compartments and 1 interior zip close pocket. There is also a small pocket on the front. It is fully lined in black acetate type fabric. This purse is in overall excellent vintage condition. There are very slight signs of wear around the bottom corners and one extremely small mark on the front, but it is hard to notice. Otherwise, there are no stains, rips or odors. The interior is super clean but there is a hole in the lining of the zip close pocket and in the lining of that same compartment. Both would be an easy fix for anyone who knows how to sew. This is a super cute vintage bag that will last for years to come and go with everything!! Measurements are: 15"W (at widest point) x 10"H x 2"D...expands to 4 3/4"D.
