Phillip Lim debuted his eponymous collection, 3.1 phillip lim, in the fall of 2005 to instant success, both critically and commercially. Making beautiful clothes with touches of madness, Lim strives towards imperfection creating individual looks that are unexpected, unplanned, but completely relevant. In 2007, the onetime assistant to Katayone Adeli and co-founder of Development was honored with the CFDA Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent in womenswear and chosen as a runner-up for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award. Peter Som's aesthetic of unstudied elegance and refined sexiness has brought a fresh point of view to modern American fashion. Since his stellar debut in 2001, his clean, unfettered yet feminine clothes have been winning accolades from buyers and critics alike. Having grown up in San Francisco with two architect parents, Som's design sensibility was clearly influenced by the relaxed, sophistication of the city as well as the ideals of purity of form, function and composition. Som attended the Parsons School of Design, where he apprenticed with Michael Kors and Calvin Klein, and worked with the legendary Bill Blass upon graduation. See less
