The trouble with this sort of thing is that somebody writes a half-baked article but doesn't explain what it actually means. It's then paraphrased over and over again, with each description getting shorter, and explaining even less. So what is actually happening? On TMF, I can't cheat you, so you can see it really is on MySpace, so if you've asked Firefox to remember your MySpace login information, it will fill in the form. Thanks to the dedicated hardware modem, it is blisteringly fast. In tests, its ping time is, on average, 10ms less than a USB modem like the Alcatel 'frog'. ....I've no idea at all whether that is good bad or indifferent! Don't worry about it - it doesn't really make a lot of difference, that kind of stuff is more aimed at teenagers wanting to get a split-second advantage over their opponents in games. Most of the advantage comes from moving off the USB bus, routers all use one of a handful of chips inside. From your POV, the most important thing is ease of setup - and while Netgear and Linksys seem to be the usual recs there, all I can say is that my new Netgear Rangemax Next router was an absolute dream to setup, whereas my old Linksys could be a bit of a PITA. New Linksys' may be better, I don't know, but I've had no problems with reliability. I certainly don't know anything about Actiontecs. I have some recommendations for you that have proven to be successful for me over the years. First, be sure exactly what Web site you are really on. With all the Pfishing, Pharming and scams taking place on the Internet, some of the fake sites are looking more and more legitimate all the time. There is a little browser add-on that I highly recommend for helping you with this. It is actually a tool bar add on for your browser called SpoofStick that is available in versions for either Internet Explorer or Firefox.
