It was weighted down with materials to be stuffed in binders (I was assembling course readers; I know, the perils of academia!), and one side suddenly came crashing down, not two inches from my foot. Apparently the strut wasn't quite locked. Structure and design are one with the Strut. A proud stance for any gathering. Offered in two sizes of coffee tables as well as a console and a side table. The quality of the leather is good and has no ulgy pleather! As in other reviews, the couch is firm, however still comfortable and I believe it wouldn't hold its shape if it was soft. It is not a large couch and the back and arms are low which I like because its not overwhelming in the room and allows you to add more pieces. It arrived with no assembly required and we have had it for about two months and it has held up very well.... See less
