Monsoon Vermont goods are made from recycled trash (detergent packets, toothpaste tubes) collected by the scavengers of Indonesia. The garbage used in our products is scavenged from landfills, streets and waterways. Made with quality workmanship, heavy-duty double zippers, buckles, and hardware, these products are beautiful and made to last. Monsoon Vermont is dedicated to creating sustainable livelihoods for slum-dwelling scavengers and sewers of Jakarta, Indonesia. In the manufacturing of Monsoon Vermont's products, we do not seek to mimic an industrial workplace where efficiency means profit at the expense of its workers. We seek to honor the story of each person who scavenges, collages, and sews garbage into functional works of art. Our mission is to elevate non-recyclable plastic garbage into a valuable commodity.
