I recommend a medium to heavy-weight. 12" zipper Step 1. ("collect underpants" --any South Park fans out there?) Cut fabric. Cut a 16" x 12" (updated dimensions) rectangle of exterior fabric, lining, and interfacing. Choose interfacing that will create the structure you like best. For a more structured pouch, use a heavy interfacing or even Peltex. For something collapsible to toss in your bag, choose a lighter weight interfacing. I used a lighter weight because that's what I had on hand, but I prefer something heavier or at least medium-weight. Iron your fabric if you're feeling motivated (I wasn't today). This is a handmade knitting needle case. It has 36 pockets for straight knitting needles, circular needles, DPNs, crochet hooks, and anything else you feel like keeping in there. It holds needles size 0 to 17+, and up to 14.5 inches long. The inside and outside are made of soft cotton. It has batting inside to protect your needles and a flap at the top to keep them from moving around when the case is closed. It folds in fourths and closes with a snap. I find that the snap is much easier to use than a ribbon, which somehow requires me to use both hands and a leg to get it closed :P I'm happy to ship internationally, just convo me and let me know which country, and I will add the correct shipping price to the item. Pin templates to fabric as follows: Exterior body and interior flap are fabric A. Interior body and exterior flap are fabric B. | Main interior pocket will be fabric C, and Bottom pocket and outer "Obi" (the strip of fabric that wraps around the exterior to look like a kimono sash) are fabric D. I used four different fabrics, but it isn't necessary. (Do what looks good!) Cut out all fabric. Also, you want to cut two strips of ribbon for the outside of the wrap, and two for the inside, plus one more to serve as the tie. All the pieces, except for the last one, will be cut to fit the width of the needle roll. (I used 21") Cut the ribbon that will serve as the tie longer than the width of the roll. They can be easily modified to suit your style, and you can make a set in under an hour! All you need are a toggle clasp, head pin (looks like a straight pin without a point), beads and pliers. For the stitch markers, you will use the round part of the toggle clasp. This gives you a seamless circle that wont snag on your yarn. You can get the toggle clasps in a variety of sizes, most will fit up to a 10.5 US needle. Thread your beads onto the head pin, making sure the bottom bead is small enough that they wont slip off. I don’t have a picture for the next step, but you simply thread the head pin through the bottom of the toggle clasp part, and you will bend the head pin around to secure it. A friend of mine told me awhile back about melting down crayons to make chunkier ones that are easier for little hands to hold (and tougher for them to break). This is also a great way to use up broken crayons that you have laying around. * Crayons (like I said, you could use ones you already have or buy some. I purchased 5 boxes of 24-pack crayons for 20 cents each - back to school bargains!) * mini muffin pan (one that you don’t mind getting a little crayon on) * exacto knife (optional) You’ll want to preheat your oven to 265 degrees F.
