i work at the MN Renaissance Festival, i'm a member of the MN Herpetological Society, on the council of the Twin Cities Polyamorous Discussion Group, and doing some volunteer stitching for local theatres. i go to CONvergence every year, where the poly group hosts a room party. i'm also involved (on and off) in the local pagan and glbt communities. i don't know what free time is.

In lieu of something more put-together, I now present 25 random things about me:
1 - it’s hard for me to talk about myself.
2 - i have 8 piercings currently, have let 2 heal over, and want to get a few more.
3 - animals i’ve owned include fish, hamsters, parakeets, dogs, a cockatiel, an anole, a praying mantis, horses (a paso fino, 2 quarter horses, and an arabian), cats, angora goats, a sheep, turkeys, a rabbit, a duck, corn snakes, ball pythons, and a kingsnake.
4 - i thought about becoming a veterinarian when i grew up.
5 - i also considered being an architect, medical doctor, and psychologist.
6 - i started reading by myself at age 3.
7 - a good balsamic reduction tastes amazing over vanilla bean ice cream.
8 - i love hot chocolate, good tea, and chai; i can’t stand the taste of coffee.
9 - i’ve never used any illegal drugs. i have no desire to.
10 - i have, however, been on over two dozen different psychiatric medications.
11 - i really want to travel through space. i think zero-gravity would be awesome!
12 - i believe there are lessons to be learned from every experience in life.
13 - is one of my luckiest numbers.
14 - the most challenging book i’ve read in the last 10 years was les miserables by victor hugo - it took me a solid month, reading for at least an hour or two a day.
15 - is how old i was when i decided that paganism was the religion/spiritual path that made the most sense to me. been following that path for over 13 years now.
16 - i’m more physically attracted to women, but have had more romantic relationships with men. men are easier to understand.
17 - i’ve never been a “girly” girl; i’ve never been into makeup or shoes. i’ve also never really been a tomboy; i’m not interested enough in sports, or good enough at them. i aim for the middle - long skirts and combat boots, being able to knit and to change a tire.
18 - i want kids, but at the same time, the idea of being that responsible for another life terrifies me. i don’t want to screw my kids up.
19 - i like grape kool-aid.
20 - i’ve played violin, recorder, clarinet, piano, acoustic guitar, djembe (african hand drum), and electric bass guitar; i’m not terribly good at any of them.
21 - i’ve had a few years of german, and know a little bit of french, spanish, and american sign language. i love languages, and wish i had more time to study them. i’d also like to learn japanese, russian, and gaelic.
22 - my favorite phrase in german is “Gehen Sie bitte, und spiel im Verkehr.”
23 - i have a pathological aversion to using someone else’s pattern for sewing or knitting projects, and prefer to draft my own. i’m pretty good at it.
24 - i’ve never broken a bone.
25 - i’ve dyed my hair natural reds, brown-black, blue-black, purple, green, crayon red (which promptly faded to orange), and blue.
