The Laptop Bag That Isn't
Now that I'm back in the office after maternity leave I carry a lot more stuff than I used to. I'm only in the office part-time and no longer in a permanent cube, so I have to schlep all my work gear - laptop, notepad, files - plus all the little things like lip gloss and emory boards.  My slim black laptop bag wasn't going to cut it anymore. Plus it was a little boring. I needed a fun bag to liven things up a bit. So when I spotted this beauty in the purse rack at TJ Maxx (aww, yeah!) I knew I had found my new laptop bag. The color is great, plus the leather is so soft that I fell in love at...

So, when I started going to parties in college (okay, so I was a late bloomer), I thought my plain tank tops could serve double duty as daytime summer shirts and nighttime party tops...and they can, but I naively thought that tank tops were really my only option.

And then I went to my first party, and there I was, surrounded by girls in satin, sparkles, lace, corsets, and halters. Needless to say, I felt pretty plain. I had yet to discover the "going out top." The next day, I hit the mall and came back to my dorm room with no less than 10 new going out tops.
Throughout college,...

I used to be very anti-hat.  I just never felt they looked proper on me.  Then one day I dared to wear one out with friends.  It was a Newsie-like corduroy driving cap.  To me, I looked cute until one friend looked at me & announced "I don't like you in hats."  Unfortunately, I let this badly bruise my inner hat wearer's confidence.

BUT today, during a visit to Century 21, I tried on a few different cloche style hats and have decided I look damn cute in them.  My boyfriend did not disagree, so I think I will purchase one in the near future.

I tried on a few that were a color,...

A few years back, I was never really into dressing up and being fashion forward. Even though I grew up with a Mom who is deeply involved in Singapore's fashion scene, I'm far from being a girly-girl (I never wore makeup until I went to college, and I thought Christian Louboutin was a brand of chocolates). Much to the horror of my fashionista mother, my idea of a presentable outfit was a pair of khakis and a baggy t-shirt that did nothing for my figure.
"That shirt does nothing for your boobs," my Mom would say, as she gave my outfit a disapproving glance. "And those khakis? Pooh! You might...

Oh how I love thee...

I'm not a big "jewelry" person. Almost every piece of jewelry I wear is a gift from someone or a piece that means something to me, either it reminds of a happy moment or reminds me of someone or something.  A part of me is afraid of jewelry. Expensive jewelry at least. I'm always afraid a clasp will break..afraid I'll wash my hands and down goes the rings in the drain....fear losing something so tiny and precious.

Until I discovered Iosselliani. Twisted chains of chaos and beauty. I can't resist. I want the whole collection. Unfortunately, the prices...
