  • What is Kaboodle and how does it work?
Kaboodle is the most fun social shopping network on the Web! It's a place where you can express your own style and meet other stylish people by discovering, recommending, and sharing products.

Most exciting, Kaboodle allows you to add and save products from almost anywhere on the Web to your shopping lists and wish lists with the easy-to-use "Add to Kaboodle" button. The button automatically downloads the essential details of a product, including its image, short description, and price and saves it to your list of choice. To learn more about the Kaboodle button and all the other awesome features Kaboodle has to offer, Take the Tour of Kaboodle or jump right in by downloading the "Add to Kaboodle" button now!
  • Kaboodle is free, right?
Yep, and we plan to keep it that way. The ads on Kaboodle and some of our advertiser-supported features pay our rent and the bills - not to mention benefit Kaboodle users since they invariably pertain to cool products and promotions you will want to know about!
  • Does Kaboodle sell anything?
Excellent question! The answer is no. If you see something on Kaboodle that you want to buy, simply click on the image of the product or the "Buy it" button to the right of the image and you'll go to the retailer's page.
  • I hate spam! Will you share my email address with anyone else?
Tell us about it - we hate spam, too. We do not share email addresses of Kaboodle users with anyone. The only mail you will receive if you register with Kaboodle will come directly from us. You are able to opt out of communications from us at any time through a link included on every email we send, or by updating your communication preferences on your Account Settings page (which you can get to by selecting "Account Settings" in the drop-down from your username, located at the top right-hand corner of any Kaboodle page).

Answers - Products and Pricing
  • Does Kaboodle sell products?
No, Kaboodle is not a store, and we do not sell products (which means we won't take your money!). We are a shopping community where users save and share products they find all over the Web. The products you see on Kaboodle are sold by the retailer listed in the "Buy It" button.
  • I have a question about a product or an order I placed on a product I found on Kaboodle. Who should I contact?
Kaboodle does not sell products, so unfortunately we cannot help you with product or ordering issues. Any questions about products, orders, availability, or pricing should be directed to the retailer selling the item. To find the appropriate retailer, click the "Buy it" button beside the product.
  • If the price listed on Kaboodle is different from the price on the retailer's website, which price is correct?
The price on the retailer's website is always correct. The products you see on Kaboodle are added by our users, not the retailer. Mistakes can be made and prices can change. While we do our best to automatically reflect price changes on the retailer's side, we recommend that you always check the retailer's site for the current pricing and availability.

Answers - Kaboodle Buttons
  • What exactly is the Kaboodle button?
It's only the coolest thing ever! Although we talk about the button as though there is just one button, there are actually two. The one we most commonly refer to is the "Add to Kaboodle" button - our supercool tool that, when you click on the button, allows you to take a snapshot of a product's image, short description, and price and save it to one of your lists. It also allows you to indicate whether you already own the product or are wishing for it. The "Add to Kaboodle" button is represented on the top of your browser by the letter K on a piece of paper with an arrow pointed to it. The second button, represented by a lower-case letter K, simply allows you to return to your "My Kaboodle" page.
  • The button sounds super! How do I add the Kaboodle button to my browser?
We have very easy-to-follow directions on how to download the button to your browser, which differ depending on the browser you use. Click on the appropriate link below to get the instructions you need:

    Internet Explorer

    Firefox

    Safari

    Chrome

  • I don't want to download the button to my browser. What are my options?
Let us assure you that downloading the Kaboodle button to your Web browser is very secure and safe. However, if you're still feeling uneasy about downloading the button, your best bet is to use bookmarklets. Click on the following link that represents the browser you use to get the instructions you need to add Kaboodle bookmarklets:

    Internet Explorer

    Firefox

    Safari

    Chrome

  • Where does the stuff I add with the Kaboodle button go?
When you click the "Add to Kaboodle" button, a box will pop up with a preview of the information that will be saved for you. At that time you need to select one of your lists to save the item to. Keep in mind that if your lists are set to private, you can only see them when you are signed in to Kaboodle - and no one else will see the item unless you share your private list with specific Kaboodle friends or followers or non-Kaboodle friends.
  • I got the buttons, but when I click "Add to Kaboodle" nothing happens. What's up?
Kaboodle uses JavaScript and cookies to work its magic. When you click "Add to Kaboodle" a large box with blue banner will pop up, where you can edit the product details, select your list, and save. A confirmation message will then appear in the box before it disappears. If you click "Add to Kaboodle" but don't see the popup, even after a brief pause, then JavaScript or cookies may be disabled on your Web browser.
  • How do I edit the product image and/or details for the item I just added with the Kaboodle button?
Before clicking the green "Save" button, hover your mouse over the field you wish to edit (whether it's the title, price, description, or image) to surface the "More options" link. Click the link, make the appropriate edits, and click the "Apply changes" button. After making all your desired edits, click the "Save" button. That's it!
  • Can I remove the Kaboodle buttons from my browser?
Yes, it's very simple to remove the Kaboodle buttons.

    For Internet Explorer:

    1. From the Start menu, select "Control Panel."

    2. Double-click on "Add or Remove Programs."

    3. Scroll down and select "Kaboodle Toolbar."

    4. Click on "Change/Remove."

    5. Close all Internet Explorer windows.

    6. Click "Yes" to complete uninstallation.

    For Firefox:

    1. Go to Tools / Add-ons.

    2. Click on the Kaboodle extension.

    3. Click "Uninstall."

    For Chrome:

    1. Right-click the Kaboodle button.

    2. Click "Uninstall."

    3. Confirm by clicking the "Uninstall" button.

  • How do I remove Kaboodle bookmarklets?
If you manually added the buttons as bookmarklets to Firefox or Safari, just right-click on the button and select "Delete."

Answers - Creating Lists
  • Why would I want to create lists?
Kaboodle lists are the easiest ways to keep track of all the products you discover and want to remember - shoes you've been salivating over, hot home items you've just gotta have, great gift ideas for your girlfriends, whatever your heart desires. Goodbye messy bookmarking, and hello lists!
  • What kinds of lists can I create?
The options are endless, and you can create as many lists as you want! You can make lists public or private - it's completely up to you! Here are some examples of the more popular types of lists Kaboodlers create:

    • Shopping List: Use this list for items you're thinking of getting for yourself or someone else.

    • Wish List: This list is for those items you've been drooling over. Wish lists are interactive, which means others can reserve items you have added, making them fantastic for birthday, wedding, or baby shower gift lists. You can even set an occasion and specify an end date.

    • Top Picks: Create a numbered list of your favorites within a topic, such as your favorite movies, spring styles, or techie gadgets.

    • Other/Random: Use this list for things you love, think are cool, already own, or just want to let others know about.

  • I can't wait to create lists! How do I start?
That's what we like to hear! Once you are registered, you can begin creating lists one of three ways:

Start from your "My Kaboodle" page. To the right of your activity feed on your "My Kaboodle" page, you will see the words "Create New." Click on the "List" link next to it.

Start from your profile page. Once you're signed in, click on your username or small profile photo at the top right-hand corner of any Kaboodle page. Next, click the "Lists" link right above your profile photo. Once on your "Lists" page, click on the "Create New List" link to the right of your profile picture.

Start from a product page. Each product page on Kaboodle has an "Add to My List" button. Clicking it allows you to add the product to an existing list (when you register you automatically get five default lists - all of which are empty) or to create a new list.

Once you begin a list, you will land on the List Editor page where you must name your list, choose a list type (shopping list, wish list, top picks, or other), and select the privacy setting. Adding a description is optional. Once you click "Submit," the fun really begins! To populate your list, drag and drop items from the Control Panel on the right side of the page onto the canvas area on the left. You can choose items from the "Brands" tab, "Editors Picks" tab, or use the search box in the "Search" tab.

Once you save your list, you can find it any time by going to your profile page (access your profile by clicking on your username or small profile photo at the top right-hand corner of any Kaboodle page). Then, just click on the "Lists" link right above your profile photo.
  • How is a wish list different from other kinds of lists?
Wish lists let others know what you'd like. Unlike other types of lists, wish lists are interactive, allowing others to reserve your list items. (Reserving allows people you share your list with let others know they plan to buy the reserved item for you.) You can set an occasion (such as birthday, wedding, etc.) and specify an end date. Be sure to share your wish list with friends and family. The people with whom you share your wish list do not have to be registered on Kaboodle to view or reserve items on your list.
  • I already have a wish list on Amazon. Can I import it into Kaboodle?
We don't have this capability at this time. If you'd like for us to consider reinstating it, just let us know via our "Send Feedback" link.
  • How do I add cool items to a list?
There are several ways you can add items to your lists:

    • Use the "Add to Kaboodle" button. The simplest way to add items is with the "Add to Kaboodle" button. Once you add the button to your nav bar, you will actually see two buttons on the top of your browser. To add an item you see on any website, just click the "Add to Kaboodle" button (the icon featuring a "K" on a piece of paper with a small arrow pointing to it). The button automatically pulls essential information, including an image, price, and short description of the product and guides you to "filing" it into one of your Kaboodle lists.

    • Use our bookmarklet. If you prefer not to add our browser buttons, you can add a bookmarklet to your bookmarks or favorites that works just like the "Add to Kaboodle" button.

    • Copy items you see on Kaboodle! Kaboodle showcases millions of products added by other users. If you see something you like, click the "Add to My List" button to the right of the product to copy it to any one of your lists. You can also add any product you see on the site by hovering your mouse over it and clicking the plus sign on the pop-up panel.

    • Manually create a new item. To create a unique item, go to the list you want to add this unique item to. Once on that list's page, click the "Add New Item" link in the list header. Next, click on the radio button "By manually entering information and pictures from your computer." Enter title, description, tags, and other information as well as up to four images. This new item will look just like other items on your list, but it will not link out to a website.

  • How do I create an item on my list using my own words and pictures from my hard drive?
To create a unique item, go to the list you want to add this unique item to. Once on that list's page, click the "Add New Item" link in the list header. Next, click on the radio button "By manually entering information and pictures from your computer." Enter title, description, tags, and other information as well as up to four images. This new item will look just like other items on your list, but it will not link out to a website.
  • Is there one place where I can see all my lists - public and private?
There sure is! Actually, there are two ways you can view all your lists:

    1. Your "Lists" page. Go your profile page (access your profile by clicking on your username or small profile photo at the top right-hand corner of any Kaboodle page). Then, just click on the "Lists" link right above your profile photo. You can filter by public or private, or view all in the drop-down menu on the top of the page. You can also change the settings to view your lists in a list or grid form. Note that a lock next to your list indicates the list is private.

    2. Your "My Kaboodle" page. To the right of your activity feed on your "My Kaboodle" page, you will see a box with two columns: "Messages" and "Lists." Click the "All My Lists" link at the bottom of the "Lists" column. Both public and private lists will appear.

  • Is there a limit to the number of lists I can have?
Absolutely not! You can create a list for every topic, mood, or interest...whatever suits your fancy. If you keep your lists public, the entire Kaboodle community can get inspired by your discoveries!
  • Is there a limit to the number of items I can add to a list?
Yes, a list can hold up to 512 items. If you run into this limit, you will be alerted and prompted to create a new list.

Answers - Sharing Lists
  • My lists are flippin' awesome! How can I share one or all of my lists with the readers of my own personal blog or website?
We're so excited to learn that you want to share your lists with others and totally encourage you to do so! Kaboodle allows you to quickly create custom badges or widgets that you can showcase on your personal blog or website. You can create either a static JavaScript photo badge or a dynamic Flash slideshow that shows off all the items on your list. To create a widget, go to the Kaboodle list you wish to share. Click the "More Actions" drop-down to the right of the list and select "Get Widgets." The widgets link your friends and followers back to your awesome list!
  • After I create a wish list, how do I make sure people can find it?
Of course you need to share your wish list if you want your wishes to come true! (Otherwise, how are people supposed to know what to get you?!) To share it, select any of the following options (all located to the right of your wish list): "Embed Flash Slideshow," "Share URL," Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, or email. Just click the appropriate button for the place you'd like to share it/ your preferred means of sharing. Note that if you are already signed into Facebook, Twitter, or StumbleUpon, a popup with a pre-populated link to your wish list will appear. However, if you are not already signed into the third-party site you want to use, a new tab will open, prompting you to log in. Once you log in, the link will automatically appear in your status field so all you have to do is click "Share" (for Facebook), "Tweet" (for Twitter), or "Submit" (for StumbleUpon)!

If you choose to share your wish list via email, simply click the envelope icon. Once the popup appears, click on the "Choose followers" link (note that you can send it to all your friends and followers or handpick them by clicking on individual friends' and followers' boxes). For your non-Kaboodle friends, simply enter their email addresses, using commas to separate multiple addresses. Write a short message when prompted, then click the "Send" button. Your Kaboodle friends and followers will receive a list request in their messages boxes (on their "My Kaboodle" pages), and your non-Kaboodle friends will receive an email with a link to view your wish list. Your friends can then reserve items, which indicates to others they plan to buy the item they reserve for you, whether or not they are registered Kaboodle users.
  • What about my other lists (other than wish lists)? Can I share them with my Kaboodle friends, followers, and non-Kaboodle friends?
Sure you can! Whenever you create a public list (wish list or any other type of public list), you can share that list with any or all of your Kaboodle friends and followers and non-Kaboodle friends.

To share it, select any of the following options (all located to the right of your list): "Embed Flash Slideshow," "Share URL," Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, or email. Just click the appropriate button for the place you'd like to share it/your preferred means of sharing. Note that if you are already signed into Facebook, Twitter, or StumbleUpon, a popup with a pre-populated link to your list will appear.

If you choose to share your list via email, simply click the envelope icon. Your Kaboodle friends and followers will receive a list request in their messages boxes (on their "My Kaboodle" pages), and your non-Kaboodle friends will receive an email with a link to view your list.
  • Is there a limit to how many Kaboodle friends and followers I can share my list with?
There is no limit whatsoever! Share with as many of your Kaboodle friends and followers as you'd like!
  • Can I share my private lists with specific Kaboodle and non-Kaboodle friends?
You can definitely share your private lists with your registered Kaboodle friends (and followers) and your non-registered Kaboodle friends. You just can't share your private lists with registered Kaboodlers you are not connected to.
  • I think my Kaboodle friend/follower's list is so cool! Can I share her list with others?
Totally! Click the envelope icon to the right of the list you want to share. Then pick which of your Kaboodle friends and followers you want to share the list with by clicking the "Choose followers" link. You can easily send the list to all of your friends and followers or you can handpick them by clicking on individual friends' and followers' boxes. Write a short message, if you desire, and click the "Send" button. Your Kaboodle friends and followers will receive a list notification in their messages boxes on their "My Kaboodle" pages.

You can also send your friend or follower's list out on blast on other social networking sites! To the right of every list, you will see icons for Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, embeddable Flash code, and URL, along with email. Just click the appropriate button for the place you'd like to share it/your preferred means of sharing.
  • How can I find the wish list of someone I know?
If you know the person's Kaboodle username, you can go directly to the person's profile page at http://www.kaboodle.com/username (replacing "username" with their actual username). You can also search for the person using the search box on the top navigation bar. Once you type in the username or the real name of the person you are looking for, select "People" in the drop-down menu, and click on the magnifying glass. From the person's profile, click the "Lists" link right above the profile photo to see all of his/her lists. Unless the person makes his/her wish list private, you should see it among public Kaboodle lists.
  • When I reserve a gift from someone's wish list, can other people see who reserved it?
Nope. The list owner and other gift shoppers will not see who has reserved an item. Those people will only see that the gift has been reserved. We like to keep some mystery, after all!
  • If I am not a registered Kaboodle user, can I unreserve a gift that I had previously reserved?
Yes, but you will be asked to enter the email address you provided when you first reserved the gift. If you did not provide an email address at that time, you will not be able to unreserve the item.

Answers - Editing Lists
  • How do I change the title of my list?
Click into the list you want to change (access your lists from the "Lists" link right above your photo on your profile page). From the "More Actions" drop-down on the right-hand side of the page, select "List Settings." Type in the new name and click the "Submit" button. That's all you have to do!
  • How do I change an existing Kaboodle list into a different list type, such as a wish list or top picks?
Easy! From the "More Actions" drop-down on the right-hand side of the page, select "List Settings." In the "List Type" area select the desired type. Your choices are:

    • Shopping List: This list is typically for items you're thinking of getting yourself (because, hey, you deserve it!) or for someone else.

    • Wish List: This list is for items you so desperately want. Wish lists are interactive, allowing others to reserve the items you've added that they intend to purchase for you. You can set an occasion (such as birthday, wedding, etc.) and specify an end date, too!

    • Top Picks: This list type allows you to create a numbered list of your favorites within a topic, such as your favorite movies, spring styles, or techie gadgets.

    • Other/Random: Use this list for things you love, think are cool, already own, or just want to let others know about.

  • How do I make a list private?
From the "More Actions" drop-down on the right-hand side of the page, select "List Settings" then select "Private" as the privacy setting.
  • How do I move, reorder, or delete items on my list?
To delete an individual item or move it to a different list, use the "Copy/Move" and "Delete" links to the right of the product description. If you wish to change the order of items or move or delete several items at once, click the "Organize" link to the right of the list.

To change the order of the items, click the up and down arrows or simply drag and drop the items to the preferred places within the list.

To delete several items at once, check the items and click the "Delete" button, then confirm by clicking the "Yes" button.

To move or copy items to a different list, check the items and select "Copy/Move to another list" from the drop-down.
  • I want to divide my list into sections. Is there a way I can do that?
Definitely! We know that lists can easily get quite large (e.g., shoes), so you may want to divide your "Shoes" list into sections (e.g., high heels, flats, designer shoes, etc.) to make your list much more manageable.

To introduce section headers to your list, click the "Organize" link to the right of the list. Next, click on the "Create Section" link to the left directly above your list. Type in the title for the new section you want to create and click the "Save" button. Then move items above or below your new section header using the up and down arrows or by dragging and dropping.

  • How do I edit the description, title, or photo of an item on my list?
Click the "Edit" link to the right of the product description. Below the product details you will see options to update the image, title, description, and highlights. You can add to an existing title or description or replace it with your own words. You can also indicate if you want the product or already own it by clicking on the appropriate radio button. Click "Submit" to save your edits.
  • Can I add tags to an item on my list?
You sure can! Just click the "Edit" button to the right of the item you'd like to tag. Then, fill the "Tags" field at the top of the page with whichever tags you wish, separating them by commas. Once you are done, hit the "Submit" button to save your changes.
  • How do I delete a list?
Go to your "Lists" page (get there by clicking the "Lists" link right above your photo on your profile page). If you are viewing your lists in the grid view, you will see a "Delete" link below each list. Click on it. If you are viewing your lists in the list view, click on the "Delete" link to the right of the appropriate list.

Answers - Weekly Shopping Lists
  • What is a weekly shopping list?
Kaboodle's weekly shopping list makes it easy for you to keep track of all the products you need to purchase. You can print your weekly shopping list or view it from your mobile phone any time you wish! Plus you can add products from participating retailers' weekly ads, which ensures you'll get the best deal on the items you want. Better still, we'll automatically remind you when the weekly ad deals on your weekly shopping list are going to expire 48 hours beforehand. How cool is that?! Want more info? Check out this video.
  • I can't wait to start my weekly shopping list! Where do I begin?
There are three ways to start a weekly shopping list:

Register! If you are not a registered Kaboodler, register! Once you've completed the short registration process, go to your profile page (access your profile by clicking on your username or small profile photo at the top right-hand corner of any Kaboodle page) and click on the "Lists" link right above your profile photo. You'll see "My Weekly Shopping List" along with other default list types (including "My Wish List," "Things I Love," "If I Had a Million Dollars," and "My Recent Purchases"). Select "My Weekly Shopping List" and start adding items to it by dragging and dropping products from the Control Panel on right side of the page onto the canvas area on the left. (You can choose products from the "Brands" tab, "Editors' Picks" tab, or use the search box in the "Search" tab.) Click the "Save" button when you are done.

Start from a weekly ad. Each product in the "Weekly Ads" section (located in the "Deals" channel found on the top navigation bar) has an "Add to Shopping List" button. Clicking that button allows you to add the weekly-ad product to your weekly shopping list. To get to the "Weekly Ads" section, hover your mouse over "Deals" (located on the top navigation bar) and select "Weekly Ads" from the large drop-down panel.

Start from a product page. Each product page on Kaboodle has an "Add to List" link. Clicking that link allows you to add the product to any of your lists, including your weekly shopping list!

  • The weekly shopping list sounds great! How many weekly shopping lists can I have?
You are limited to one weekly shopping list—which (believe us) is for the best. This way, you can put all your must-haves for the week in one spot! Don't worry. Your weekly shopping list doesn't expire, even if you have added products from participating retailers' weekly ads with built-in expiration dates; in that case, your weekly shopping list will remain active, any weekly-ad products will disappear when the deal expires, and non-weekly-ad products will remain on your list until you delete them.
  • What if I don't use my weekly shopping list the week that I added to it? Will it expire or disappear?
No, your list will remain active regardless if you add weekly-ad products or non-weekly-ad products to it. Only products from weekly ads expire—not the entire list nor products added from outside the weekly ads section.
  • How is a weekly shopping list different from other kinds of lists?

The weekly shopping list is special because it tracks deals you are interested in from our participating retailers' weekly ads—and makes the organization of your weekly shopping easier.

Unlike standard Kaboodle lists, weekly shopping lists allow you to add products from participating retailers' weekly ads—as well as any other products you like. They have another nifty special feature, too: They automatically remind you about any deals that you've added from any of our retailers' weekly ads 48 hours before they expire! On the flipside, because weekly ad products are programmed differently than the other products on our site, they cannot be added to or copied to a standard Kaboodle list.

Another bonus: Because this is the only list that allows you to add products from weekly ads, you are able to sort the list by "Current," "Expired," and "All." Simply click on these view settings at the right-hand side of the page.

Another difference between a weekly shopping list and a standard Kaboodle list is that you cannot organize the weekly shopping list. (Sorry!) But your weekly shopping list is automatically organized into sections by retailer; whether you add a product from a participating retailer's weekly ad or any other product from any retailer. A new section is created when you add a product from a retailer not-yet represented in your weekly shopping list and subsequent additions from that same retailer will be added to that retailer's section. Your most recent additions will push that retailer section to the top of your list with the most recently added product placed at the top of its appropriate section.

You also cannot change the name or description of your weekly shopping list. You can copy non-weekly-ad products from this list onto other lists (and visa versa), but you cannot copy weekly ad products to another list. You also cannot view your weekly shopping list in a grid or slideshow format. Finally, you cannot get a widget for your weekly shopping list.

  • Is there an easy way for me to print my weekly shopping list?
There sure is! Just click the "Print" button to the right of your weekly shopping list.
  • Can I change the name of my weekly shopping list?
Sorry, you can't. But trust us, it's easier this way—what with all the lists you have (or will have), it's nice to know that your handy weekly shopping list stays a constant fix among your list of lists.
  • Can I share my weekly shopping list with other people?
Absolutely! To share your weekly shopping list, select any of the following options (all located on the right-hand side of the page): "Embed Flash Slideshow," "Share URL," Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, or email. Just click the appropriate button for the place you'd like to share it/ your preferred means of sharing. Note that if you are already signed into Facebook, Twitter, or StumbleUpon, a popup with a pre-populated link to your weekly shopping list will appear.

If you choose to share your weekly shopping list via email, simply click the envelope icon. Answers - Deals
  • What is the "Deals" channel?
Only the most awesome place to find the latest and greatest deals from favorite retailers and to cruise popular products from thousands of brands! Our editors update this section weekly, if not daily, to make sure you never miss out on an incredible sale. The "Deals" channel (located on the top navigation bar) is made up of the following four main subsections: "Deals & Steals" (features hot deals of the day and other timely specials); "Featured Deals" (includes the deepest discounts we could find); "Contests and Giveaways" (all the ways you can score seriously cool prizes and cash); and editor's favorite sales. You can get to these subsections by going to "Deals" (located on the top navigation bar) and selecting any of the four from the large drop-down panel.
  • How can I find a particular retailer?
Simple! Use the search box in the top navigation bar. Just type in the retailer's name, select "Stores" from the drop-down menu, and click on the magnifying glass.
  • I heard about a great sale! Where can I find it?
If you've heard about it, chances are you're going to find it in our "Deals" channel. Hover your mouse over "Deals" on the top navigation bar and select "Today's Hot Deals" from the large drop-down panel. Search for the specific sale by using the "Sort by" links at the top of the page, which include "Most Popular" and "Newest Additions." You can also locate the sale by searching the categories on the left of the page or by using the Search Sales box located at the bottom of the list of categories.
  • I see an awesome sale in the "Today's Hot Deals" section! How do I take advantage of it?
Easy! Just click on the "Get Sale" button to the right of the sale you want to pounce on. This will take you to the retailer's homepage, where you can shop the sales section, or (where applicable) enter the exclusive promo code we've given you at checkout.
  • No matter how hard I try, I cannot find a specific retailer. What should I do?
Chances are, the reason you cannot find that specific retailer is because no products have been added from that retailer's website. Just go to that retailer's website and, using your "Add to Kaboodle" button, add a product from that retailer to one of your lists. Once you do, voilá—a retailer page is created!

  • I want to find the latest, hottest products people are buzzing about! Where do I look?
You've come to the right place! Kaboodle is all about products people love-from leather jackets to dishware and everything in between. Our nifty Trend-o-Meter compiles and showcases the most popular products, brands, and styles in real time, based on what people are adding to Kaboodle from around the Web and the activity surrounding them, such as sharing, styleboarding, list-adding, and buying. You can find the Trend-o-Meter by clicking "Trends" on the top navigation bar. Once there, you can filter the Trend-o-Meter by selecting "Fashion," "Beauty," or "Home" from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. You can also find pre-filtered Trend-o-Meters at the bottom of the Fashion, Beauty, and Home channels.

Additionally, your activity feed on your "My Kaboodle" page is your window to all the cool products your friends, style friends, and the people you are following are adding to their lists. Products we think are especially cool are added nearly daily by our editors to the super-sleek dynamic content streams at the top of each channel's page. The channels, which are listed prominently on the top navigation bar and include Fashion, Beauty, and Home, feature the latest trends and hottest items in their respective categories. Of course, we also have the beloved Buzz channel, but it focuses on featuring cool Kaboodlers (like you!) rather than products.

You can view your favorite lists by going to your "Lists" page (get there by clicking the "Lists" link right above your photo on your profile page) and selecting the "Favorite Lists" tab. If you follow a Kaboodler who follows you back, then you two are linked as friends!
  • What are style friends?

Answers - Activity Feed
  • What is the activity feed?
The activity feed is the main news feed on your "My Kaboodle" page. It is your way of keeping current on all things Kaboodle. It informs you of your actions (e.g., when you add a product, make a comment, create a poll, etc.); your friends', people you are following, and style friends' actions; your favorite brands, and what's going on in the Kaboodle channels. Basically, it's your pulse on Kaboodle.

Although the activity feed defaults to the "Recent Changes" setting, you can view specific types of activity by clicking on the area of interest on the drop-down at the top of your activity feed. These include: Following, Just Me, Kaboodle Editors, Products, Brands, Styleboards, Blogazines, Polls, Groups, and Profile.
  • I'm tired of seeing a specific Kaboodler's activity in my activity feed. Can I remove alerts about this user from my activity feed?
Yes you can (and she or he won't even know). Just go to that Kaboodler's profile page and hover your mouse over "Following" button to the right of the profile picture. Once it says "Unfollow," click it. You'll no longer see her/his activity in your activity feed.
  • I'm a fan of a particular brand, but I don't want to see this brand's activity on my activity feed. What should I do?
Go to your Account Settings page (which you can get to by selecting "Edit Account Settings" in the drop-down from your username, located at the right-hand corner of any Kaboodle page). You'll see four tabs on the top, including "Activity Feed." Click on that tab and go to the "Brand Activity" section right below the tabs. Click the "Off" button next to the brand whose activity you don't want to see in your feed.
  • The Kaboodle channels are cool, but I don't really want to see new posts or comments about posts in my activity feed. What should I do?
We think the channels are cool, too! But if you don't want to see them in your activity feed, that can easily be fixed. Just go to your Account Settings page (which you can get to by selecting "Account Settings" in the drop-down from your username, which is located on the right-hand corner of any Kaboodle page). You'll see four tabs at the top, including "Activity Feed." Click on that tab and go to the "Channel Activity" section right below the tabs. Click the "Off" button next to the channel whose activity you don't want to see in your feed.

Or hover your mouse over "Tools" on the top navigation bar and select "Create a Poll" on the left-hand side of the large drop-down panel.

Also to the right, grab images of products from your lists or search from the millions of products already added to Kaboodle to include in your poll. Click where it says "Enter the question here" and ask a question about your poll (e.g., "Which cocktail dress is cuter for a first date?" or "Which coffeemaker is the best bang for your buck?"). Finally, select the appropriate category from the drop-down menu, choose the date you want your poll to expire (that is, if you want it to expire), and then click "Publish."

    3. Share on other social networking sites: You can send your poll out on blast and easily invite your non-Kaboodle friends to help you choose! Answers - Channels
  • What are channels?
These are editorially created and curated (meaning featuring stuff created by you!) guides to fashion, beauty and home. Our talented Kaboodle editors blog daily in these categories about the latest product releases, hottest trends, newest stores, and the best discounts. The last channel (Buzz) discusses exciting activity daily all around Kaboodle. To visit these editorial sections, go to the top navigation bar and click on the channel you want to see. From left-to-right, they are "Fashion," "Beauty," "Home," and (after "Deals") "Buzz."
  • How can I comment on blog posts in the channels?
We encourage you to comment! Besides, the Kaboodle editors get their best ideas from you (and we're not ashamed to admit it)! Every post in the blogs has an "Add Comment" link right below its title. Click on it to write a comment in the comment bubble. Often, the Kaboodle editors ask the community questions within their posts. You can click on the hyperlinked question to bring you to the comments section where you can type your comment.
  • I have a great suggestion for the blogs! Who can I contact?
We love getting great ideas from you (and we're more than happy to give you props in the blogs for your fabulous suggestions)! There are several ways you can dispense your wisdom to us:

    1. Write a comment below one of the blogs' posts.

    2. Send the editor a private message: Befriend the editor of the channel by clicking on her profile link and clicking the "Follow" link to the right of her profile photo. She'll then follow you back, making you two friends. Once you are connected as friends, you can send the editor a message by going to her profile page and clicking on the "Send Message" link to the right of her profile photo.

    3. Offer feedback: Click the "Send Feedback" link on the bottom right footer of every page and type your thoughts there.

Answers - Badges
  • What's a badge?
A badge is our way of saying "thank you" for adding awesome products to Kaboodle! Badges—which are displayed on your Kaboodle profile—let the rest of the Kaboodle community know a little bit more about you and your favorite types of products. We're constantly adding new badges to Kaboodle, so the more products you add, the more badges you're likely to bag!
  • What does it mean to "bag a badge?"
"Bagging a badge" is just our way of saying you've earned another cool reward on Kaboodle!
  • Sounds great! How do I bag a badge?
Currently, the best way to bag a badge is by adding awesome products from all over the Web to any of your Kaboodle lists. Once you've bagged one, you will be notified via a pop-up, your activity feed, and your message inbox on your signed-in homepage! The badge will appear (and remain) on your profile page as well as under your "Badges" tab.
  • How often can I bag a badge?
As often as you want! There's no limit to the number of badges you can bag in one day! We'll also continue to introduce new badges to the mix, so you never know what new badge you may discover the next time you add a product to Kaboodle!
  • How do I delete a badge?
Sorry, currently you can't delete a badge. However, if you'd like to request this functionality, please let us know by sending an email to feedback@kaboodle.com.
  • How are badges different than props?
Awesome question! Badges are a little different as they're automatically distributed on the site and are directly tied to what you do on Kaboodle. This means that each time you add a product on Kaboodle you could bag a badge! Props, on the other hand, are tied to people. You earn them when another Kaboodler thinks you did something awesome! While both props and badges are designed to show the Kaboodle community just how awesome you are, props are manually distributed while badges are not.
  • I totally love badges and have a really great idea for one. Where do I send it?
We'd LOVE to hear your amazing ideas! Just email them to feedback@kaboodle.com and be sure to include your Kaboodle name so we can contact you in case we have any questions!
