Senior User Experience Designer

Kaboodle is looking for a Senior User Experience designer to play a key role in redefining how people shop. We need an outstanding individual who is driven to achieve extraordinary results in the world of the social web to help in a major site relaunch in the coming year. You need to be a creative thinker, bringing your own ideas to the mix and able to work as part of a team to deliver product strategy and features in very aggressive timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Taking the design lead on projects, from early concept work through definition phase (wireframes, flow diagrams, paper and interactive prototypes) to visual design (final mockups)
  • Working with product management and marketing groups on feature definition
  • Working with the engineering team to ensure timely delivery of features
  • Being the advocate for our users and ensuring the delivery of great user experiences

You should ideally have 5+ years of experience working with consumer internet companies (such as Yahoo, Amazon, eBay, Google, or Shopping.com). Experience designing for commerce and/or online communities is a big plus. You should be passionate about social media.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Passion to build the #1 shopping community site
  • Ability to apply user-centered design methods to translate user needs, business requirements, and technical constraints into an engaging user experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Interaction/Interface/Information/Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Human Factors or related fields
  • 5+ years of industry experience with consumer-facing web sites, applying user-centered design principles
  • Experience in working with fast paced product development and gathering and incorporating user needs and feedback
  • Experience with the entire product design cycle, from wire frames, to mockups, to prototypes, to final CSS/HTML
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite, and experience with CSS/HTML or creating Flash-based web applications a plus

Director of Marketing and Advertising Solutions

Kaboodle is looking for a Director of Marketing & Advertising Solutions. We're looking for someone with a passion for creating innovative solutions that will help advertisers leverage social media to connect with their target. In addition, the ideal candidate will also create and launch promotional ideas/campaigns that generate excitement, press and participation.

Reporting directly to the CMO, the Director of Marketing & Advertising Solutions will be a critical member of the organization. Working with our sales force, agencies and direct advertisers, s/he will lead a team and create integrated marketing solutions for strategic brand advertisers that want to engage with the Kaboodle audience, primarily in style, beauty, fashion, and luxury (e.g., Neiman Marcus, American Express, Estee Lauder). The ideal candidate is self-motivated and will thrive in a fast-paced, results driven environment.

Summary of Duties

  • Strategically position assets that drive creative, revenue-generating ideas via the development of online display advertising packages and overall marketing platforms.
  • Develop unique promotional ideas and campaigns that deliver greater awareness, excitement, press and revenue for Kaboodle. Partner with Hearst properties (magazines, web sites, etc.), when appropriate.
  • Understand customer requirements and work collaboratively across Sales, Product and Marketing teams to create innovative advertising solutions.
  • Liase with parent company's digital and integrated sales teams and provide support in generation of specific client proposals. Develop ideas in a proactive fashion, as well as in response to RFPs.
  • Develop and update marketing collateral as needed for the sales team so they can clearly and effectively articulate Kaboodle's value proposition to our clients. This will include presentations, one sheets, internal education documents and research summaries that incorporate brand-building advantages for Kaboodle and our clients.
  • Track and analyze data on customer responses to promotional programs and advertising products. Evaluate their performance, make adjustments where needed and maximize successes.
  • Provide day-to-day management for the Senior Advertising Manager and Advertising Coordinator.

Skills/Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of direct experience in Internet advertising and sales development.
  • Demonstrated passion for marketing and social media and/or commerce.
  • Detail oriented, organized with ability to multi-task.
  • A team player with effective project management skills and a demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating client-ready proposals and presentations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: written, verbal and listening.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and across departments to sell ideas and manage resources.
  • Must be goal-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to take direction and work independently with little supervision.
  • Possess a confident, creative, thorough, can-do and tenacious attitude.
  • Experience with PR and promotions is a strong plus.
  • Large publisher experience preferred.
  • BA/BS degree (or equivalent training and experience).

Marketing Analyst

Kaboodle, the pioneer in social shopping, is looking for an exceptional Marketing Analyst with a passion for social media to help drive informed business decisions. The perfect candidate will love to play with data to find meaningful, relevant patterns and then translate findings into business speak. We're looking for someone with strong analytical skills, demonstrated intellectual curiosity, and a high attention to detail.

Reporting to the CMO, the Marketing Analyst will take a lead role in using data to generate reports and insights, identify trends and opportunities, and inform business, product, and marketing decisions. The successful candidate will be joining a team that is driven to lead and pioneer new ideas in the emerging world of the social shopping.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and synthesize large amounts of data and extract useful business insights
  • Analyze current business performance and identify levers for improving overall results
  • Build analytical dashboards and reports to support ongoing business decisions
  • Provide regular marketing and financial reporting to senior executives, marketing partners, and other constituents
  • Analyze and monitor metrics to inform our SEO and SEM strategies and tactics
  • Work with the CMO to innovate new customer, financial, and social metrics
  • Identify and gather data, analytics, and reporting needs and collaborate with the Engineering Team to implement
  • Serve as primary in-house expert for Omniture SiteCatalyst
  • Profile ad hoc reporting and analyses as needed

Requirements

  • BA/BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Math, Finance, Stats or related field
  • 2-4 yrs experience working in a similar Analytical role
  • Superior analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Expert at MS Excel, especially pivot tables, vlookups, and other advanced concepts
  • Experience with SQL and querying databases
  • Understanding of Internet advertising business models and their associated metrics
  • Experience working with Omniture SiteCatalyst
