Why is it gone?

13 Hearts

I only like to put things on my lists that are available for purchase, but there are a number of finds here on Kaboodle that are no longer available from the purveyor. Some of them are just so awesome, that I have to ask why they don't carry it anymore? This is a list to collect those items, ostensibly for future inspiration.

Oh my gawd. Becky. Will you look at those jeans? They're just so... purple! The formula seems simple -- take some nice skinny jeans, and make them in an awesome purple color. So why aren't they around any more?

I had jeans like these in the 70's and they were bright aqua -

@shirley414: I don't imagine you have much if any of your closet from 30 years still around? Most of it would probably look hip and contemporary -- and while the skinny jeans might not fit anymore, I'm guessing most of it would.

I agree 100% I hate when someone can't buy something on my list because it's gone already!!! : }

I agree. I have so many things that I see and go to the site to look and they're not there anymore. Sometimes I'm like, yeah, ok, but others I get really annoyed that I might have wanted to buy it and can't. I understand the need for new and fresh things, but some things should not be discontinued.

So it would be really nice if Kaboodle would look at the sites we link to and flag items which seem to have disappeared (like if the site returns a 404 or redirects you to their homepage). There seem to be a lot of cool items that people keep copying from other people's lists even though they are long gone, which is alright if you're just saying, "I like the style of this item," but not so good if you actually want to buy it. If I had a line of clothes, I would flag certain items as basics or fundamentals, which I would continue to produce for as long as possible (like until the fabric was no longer available). Sure, the cost might go up if it's being made in more limited quantities, and it might be a special order item (not something just sitting on the shelf), but at least you'd be able to get it.
