South Facing Festival 2024: The Roots and De La Soul

THE ROOTS will be headlining Crystal Palace Bowl on Thursday 1st August 2024 – their first UK headline show for six years!

Joining them on this power house line up will be DE LA SOUL and THE PHARCYDE. With special guests still to be announced, this is a show that will go down in hip hop history!

South Facing is a multi-day, open-air festival that takes place each summer in the historically significant Crystal Palace Bowl. The iconic location has hosted massive names including Elton John, Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys, The Pixies and Bob Marley. The affectionately nicknamed "rusty laptop" stage now boasts a blue plaque to commemorate the location of Marley's biggest and last ever London show in May 1981.Debuting in 2021, and with an aim to be eco-friendly, South Facing was created with the ultimate goal to have zero environmental impact. Created by many of the same people behind Field Day, Cross the Tracks and Wide Awake, the plan has always been to work with local partners while setting high standards in sustainability for everything from audience experience and travel to recyclable and compostable products.

The festival's debut year included headline slots from Dizzee Rascal, Supergrass, Sleaford Mods, Max Richter and The English National Opera, and has since seen artsits including London Grammar, Richard Ashcroft, Becky Hill, Bombay Bicycle Club, Jungle, Craig David, James, Rudimental and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds grace the stage.
